Obituary Notice: James Timothy “Tim” Palmer

Palmer, James Timothy “Tim”, age 55 of Leeds, AL passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2010.
 
Mr. Palmer was a member of New Covenant Independent Church in Leeds where he was a faithful church and Sunday school member. He was employed for many years at Petey Ellis Automotive in Sumiton, AL. Tim will be greatly missed by his family; he was a sweet, kind and generous person. If he could help you in any way, he would.
 
He is survived by his wife, Laura Palmer, daughter, Ashley K. Palmer, sons, Jamie G. Vance, Marc C. Vance, mother, Iva C. Palmer and sister, Jan Crowe.
 
The family will receive friends Friday, September 3, 2010 from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds.
 
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday from Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds Chapel with burial at Bold Springs Cemetery. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to your favorite charity.

Obituary Notice: Andrew Jackson Fendley

Fendley, Andrew Jackson, age 83 of Ragland, AL passed away August 28, 2010.

Mr. Fendley was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle (Molly) Sellers.

He is survived by his first wife of 26 years, Iris Helen Thompson, daughters, Peggy Isbell, Patricia Maddox (Jack), Mae McDonald (Bo), Denise Bailey (Joey), son, Richard Fendley (Linda), sisters, Myrtle Parker, Lucille Edmonson, Lois Bice, brother, Johnny Fendley, (12) grandchildren and (15) great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 1:00 PM from Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds Chapel with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds.

Leeds Library Speak-Easy Art Class

The Leeds Library still has TWELVE seats available for their Speak-Easy Art Class tomorrow night (August 26, 2010)!  You can sign up by calling the library at 699-5962 up until 5:00 PM Thursday.  Paint an original painting to take home! Bring beverages and snacks of choice. The fee is $20.00. All proceeds go to the library building fund. Help us build a new facility!
 
The Leeds Herald is going to sweeten this offering by the Library and pay the $20 fee for one lucky class participant through a drawing at the end of the class, so sign up, it might just be free!

Armstrong, James E. (Junior), age 76, of Leeds, AL passed away August 24, 2010.

Mr. Armstrong was a resident of both Leeds, AL and Tallassee, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Armer and W. E. Armstrong, wife, Shelba Armstrong, brothers, Preston, Jack and Buster Armstrong, sisters, Olene Payton and Velma Maddox. He is survived by his wife, Ann Armstrong, sons, Phillipp Armstrong, David Armstrong, daughter, Phylliss Pierce (Ronnie), step children, Robert Beard Jr. (Linda), Teresa Church (Eddie), Kim Reach (Gary), Jeff Hill (Francine), Paige Ryan, brothers, Charles Armstrong (Barbara), Ray Armstrong (Shirley), sisters, Helen Stone, Lois Coleman, (16) grandchildren, (1) great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be Friday, August 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds Chapel with burial at Forest Crest Cemetery.

Obituary Notice: Edward Dean “Ed” Mudd

Edward Dean “Ed” Mudd, 53 of Leeds, AL passed away  August 13, 2010.
His health had declined rapidly after complications from diabetes in February.
 
Ed was preceded in death by his father, Walter J Mudd and he is survived by his mother Ruth Cronk, and brother Ken Mudd, both of Leeds. Respecting his wishes, they will take him back to the mountains in Colorado for his final resting place.

Wood, Patricia Kay, age 50 of Springville, AL passed away August 18, 2010. Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her father, Willis Ray Washington, grandparents, Farris and Lena Washington, Woodrow and Clemmie Mize. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth R. Wood, daughter, Allison RaeAnn (Wood) Goodwin, son, Joshua Michael Wood, mother, Patricia Ann Washington, brother, Michael Ray Washington and granddaughter, Brynna Rae Wood.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Low Gap Methodist Church with burial at Low Gap Cemetery.
